Date Night with a Twist

The husband and I just had an amazing Date Night with a Twist! With two young children at home and jobs and family and friends and the everyday chaos, we really don’t get out much. Time with just us two is slim to non existent. I found a really fun way to bring date night back with Painting with a Twist!

Painting with a Twist is a painting studio with locations all over the country. There are 2 hour classes offered with numerous types of classes from Luau Night, which is what we attended, to paint your pet and classes for children or even date nights. You can also hold private events like Birthday Parties or employee bonding out of the office.

Check out Painting with a Twist and find a location near you!

I am far from an artist. My husband has a little more skill than me in this department but you don’t have to be an artist to attend a class with painting with a Twist! I promise. Half the class had no idea what they were doing like myself but the instructor walks you through step by step so you can create a masterpiece. Well…. maybe mine wasn’t quite a masterpiece but close enough.  There was a second instructor walking around to give advice and answer questions too. Both the ladies teaching the class were so nice and made the night a great one.

What really made our Date Night at Painting with a Twist over the top were the little things. You are allowed to bring your own wine, beer and snacks. I can definetly use a glass of wine when I get a couple hours away from the kids. No offense to my kids but they drive me bonkers. There is also a fun box with funny hats and other items to dress up and be a silly bit silly. The studio itself has paintings all over the wall that is really bright and inspiring. You get to pick your apron with funny saying and characters like my Ariel apron. The all around tone of the studio is so laid back and fun!

Everyone gets their own easel, canvas, 2 paint brushes and a variety of different colors of acrylic paints. In your online reservation, make sure to add in the names of people you want to sit next to if you are going with a group. This would be a great night out with friends or family for a truly unique experience.

My next Painting with a Twist visit will be with my oldest child and I can’t wait! This studio is child friendly and I know he will have a blast with me.

Visit Painting with a Twist to sign up for a class!

Why You Need the Petcube for Your Home

Why You Need the Petcube for Your Home

This shop was given this item from Petcube. This color was personally picked by me and all opinions are mine alone. #petcube

The Petcube Play is a small device that allows you to speak, play and watch your pets from your smartphone anytime. The Petcube offers 1080p HD video, night vision, 2-way audio, and laser. Also available in multiple colors like this rose gold to blend in seamlessly into your home décor.

We should begin with some background of my pets. Today, my models are Chance and Sandy. Chance is a lab-boxer mix with some serious separation anxiety issues. Sandy is my sons ferret who thinks she is cat.

Chance is the perfect dog – obedient, protective, sweet and well mannered….. while we are home. Once we leave the house, he is a completely different dog. Here is a list of some damage that has occurred while home alone:

  • Has ripped apart not one but 4 sets of wooden blinds. I gave up on blinds and now just have curtains.
  • Has torn the framework/molding off the door leading into the garage. We had to completely replace it all.
  • Has gnawed apart not one but 3 door knobs. I don’t even know how he accomplishes this.
  • Countless loafs of bread, boxes of crackers and so on have gone completely missing with just a small shred of the box left as evidence.

I am sure if I sat here for a bit longer, I could think of many, many more damages that have occurred while we have been out. The Petcube Play gives us the opportunity to spy on our dog while we away. I downloaded the Petcube app on my smartphone and connected the device within seconds to stream a live feed where I can play with the laser or speak to him. Pretty cool, right?

Here is some live footage testing out the Petcube Play while I was in the other room to see how Chance would react. You can see that my daughter had equally as much fun playing with the Petcube! The picture and sound quality is great and the laser is easy to handle from your smartphone. Check it out below:

Sandy got some playtime too. She is a busy little ferret with loads of energy. My son as curious what she does at night while everyone is sleeping. We propped up the Petcube to overlook the cage to take a peak in at her. The night picture quality is great! We tried to play with the laser but she wasn’t all that interested in it. She was curious for a moment and went back to the hammock to nap. Check out the footage below:

Why You Need the Petcube for Your Home

My overall impression on the Petcube Play is that it is a really fun product for pet owners. You can check on your pets while at work and say hello or play with them during your lunch hour with the laser. The Petcube always also acts as a simple security system and will alert you with new movement which is nice while you are away from the home to have notification if something is going on. You can log into the live feed and see what the Petcube sees at anytime.

There is also a large Petcube community within the app. Once you have created your account, you can connect with other pet owners or keep private. I was hesitant at first about connecting by device within the community but I realized you can set it as private and share it with only people you approve.

Check out the Petcube website HERE for more information on the different products offered!

Why You Should Always Buy White Bedding {Even with Kids}

Why you should always buy white bedding , white bedding, kids, home decor

Why you should always buy white bedding even with kids! I have two messy children, two rambunctious dogs and a crazy little ferret in my home. I always buy white bedding for the master suite and I am sharing with you why you should also!

  1. Brightens up your space.
  2. Establishes a classic, crisp and polished look.
  3. Easy to accessorize and makes feature items or colors in the bedroom pop!
  4. It is effortless.
  5. Easily cleaned.
  6. Pieces are easily replaced or updated.

Everything gets a little messy with kids around. ” They’re always sticky like they’ve got jam on their hands. Even if there’s no jam in the house, somehow, they’ve always got jam on their hands! I’m not the right guy to deal with that. I have no patience for jam hands!”- Luke, Gilmore Girls. Where my Gilmore Girl fans at?

Here is the thing with all white bedding. Jam will magically appear on whatever you buy. Period. White bedding is easy to clean and if damage happens to be irreversible, you don’t have to buy an entire new bedding set. No, simply replace the damaged item with another piece of white.

How to keep white your white bedding…well, white? Do not bleach, use a spray stain remover if needed, dry on low temperature settings, and use cold water.  Most importantly, do not wash bedding with anything else.  This means you do not throw a towel or hoodie in the wash with your bedding! Take care of your bedding and it can last for years.

Here is what I have on my bed right now:

  1. A duvet with cover. [Similar: Target Texture Duvet Cover Set]
  2. Two Euro sized shams with covers that correspond with that duvet cover. [Target Texture Euro Shams]
  3. Bedskirt. [Same product: Target Tailored 14″ Bedskirt]
  4. Sheet and fitted sheet that correspond with two of the pillows. [Similar: JC Penny Ultrafit Performace Sheet Set]
  5. Lumbar pillow for décor. [Fun idea: Zazzle White Leather texture Lumbar Pillow]
  6. Coverlet that corresponds with two more pillow shams. Yes, I have a coverlet and also a duvet. [Coverlets and quilts from Wayfair]
  7. Throw blanket. [Similar: TacheNew Faux Fur Sherpa Throw]

I literally have mix matched sets of bedding from six places? They all work great together. Think of different textures when going all white. Do something with more detail, something classic, and something fuzzy. Always need a fuzzy touch. Extra pillows and blankets add more depth and comfort.

Make your master bedroom a serene spot in your home to relax and unwind. Lavender or vanilla scented candles, classic white bedding, beautiful flowers and a piece of art you absolutely love is all you need. Keep it simple and enjoy your bedroom!

Do you dare to all go white in the bedroom? I promise, you won’t ever look back!
