PinkBlush Black, White, Grey Colorblock Halter Maxi Dress

This shop was given this dress as part of the PinkBlush Ambassador program. This item was personally picked by me and all opinions are mine alone.

The PinkBlush Black, White, Grey Colorblock Halter Maxi Dress is a comfortable maxi dress that is a great staple for any closet. This dress is so lightweight and comfy! I don’t wear a lot of color and I am loving the colorblock shades with the black, white and grey. The dresses ties at the neck and cinches around the waist.

I can’t get enough of PinkBlush dresses and the trendy online boutique! Last month I wore a Magenta Sash Tie Maxi Dress that you can see by clicking here.

I am a shorty at 5’3″ and this dress works really well for us short people. It hits me right at the ankles when the top is adjusted at the neck as tight as comfortably possible. If you are short like me, you know how difficult it is to find long maxi dresses like this one in a length that is wearable with flat sandals. And I love my sandals so I will be rocking this dress all the time. If you are taller, this dress still works because of how the adjustment around the neck works.

A strapless bra will be needed with this dress because of how it ties. I am wearing a small and it is flowy and roomy but still fits well. As long as you are able to wear a strapless bra, this dress is for you. It will look fantastic on anyone that put it on and true to size.

Today, I styled this dress with some really fun drop earrings that I picked up at the Farmer’s Market here in Cincinnati awhile back. You can’t tell so much in the photos but it was CRAZY windy today so I put my hair up in a pony tail and kept it all really simple. I put on my favorite black sandals for walking and we hung out the park. Oversized sunglasses completed the summer look. The combo of a halter, drop earrings and an up-do is always flattering.

The PinkBlush Black, White, Grey Colorblock Halter Maxi Dress is very versatile! You can go from Sunday church to the park to a dinner out flawlessly and most importantly, comfortably!

Kid Style : Dot Dot Smile Dress

This shop was given this dress from Jen with Dot Dot Smile. All opinions are mine alone.

Dot Dot Smile is a new line for kids clothing and we are super excited. They offer beautiful dresses are rompers that are flowing and comfortable. There are solid colors are fun designs like this one shown in a sort of water color print with lots of vibrant color. Add a cute pink bow in the hair and some simple sandals and your little one is set! Ignore the crazy bed head. This girl always has some curly, uncooperative hair that is going through somewhat of an awkward stage. I know some of you understand that one.

Caitlin is 2 years old and wearing the Classic Cap Dress in a size 2. Typically, she wears a size 3 but the 2 fits perfectly. If your child is in between sizes, I recommend going into the smaller size for great fit. The dress can be used for years, think about how could this would be as a tunic later on with fun bright pink leggings underneath!

Where do I see this Dot Dot Smile dress worn? Anywhere! Going to the Zoo, walking around the neighborhood, as a daily play dress or a nice dinner out. The Dot Dot Smile dresses are very versatile and with how comfortable the material is, there won’t be any complaining that the child is uncomfortable or pulling on the dress. My daughter always yanks on her dresses, especially ones with tutus like “get this off of me”. However, Caitlin was really comfortable wearing this dress all day. There is also a ballerina cut dress that is super adorable! Check it out for sure.

Magenta Maxi DressMagenta Sash Tie Wrap Maxi Dress is a solid color maxi dress that is vibrant and a perfect staple for any closet. This dress has a nice deep v cut, sash that ties around the waist and flows perfectly around the hips down to the floor. The cut is very slimming and will hide any problem areas you may be self conscious of. This dress can be worn to a more formal event like a wedding reception with wedges or pumps accessorized with simple jewelry and bracelet with an amazing up-do. You could also wear this dress to stroll around the zoo with the kids in sandals and a great statement necklace with hair down.

I am wearing a size small. I am 5’3” and around 115 pounds to give you an idea of what size you may want. The dress was slightly loose but still flowed around my curves beautifully. I had on 4 inch wedges and the dress dropped perfectly to the floor. It is the type of dress that you could let drag slightly though because of how it hangs and I will wear it in the future with flat sandals.

This Sash Tie Wrap Maxi Dress does come in many different color or floral options with different sleeve lengths. I picked this magenta because the color works great for all skin tones. I have very fair skin and you can see from these photos, the color does not wash me out or take over in the slightest. Also very flattering color for both blonde or brunette hair color.

We went shopping at the Streets of West Chester, an small outdoor mall with shops, coffee, food and more. I wore some simple gold and white drop earrings, a gold bracelet and wedges. I recently bought a new wave iron for my hair so I curled my hair, scrunched with some salt spray and put a bobby pin in to keep my hair out of my face. I love how comfortable this dress is and how it can be easily be dressed up or down for many occasions.

How to Style a Denim Vest

I’m all about the mom style infusing comfy with trends. I love the versatility of a simple denim vest.

How to Style a Denim Vest

Start with a simple bottom and plain top. A black maxi skirt or leggings are shown with a plain white t shirt or a striped t. All playground friendly wear that you can move in and chase after the kids or swing on the playset. I think that is important as a mom, to be able to be active with your children. I am not one of those moms that takes the kids to the park and sits on a bench. I am right in there going down slides and being involved so my clothes have to accommodate this.

When you have simple clothing pieces on, think of accessories as being the star of the outfit and what brings everything together. You don’t want to look like you rolled out of bed and threw on some leggings and a t shirt. Although, my hair today surely says that. Accessories will help taking a blah outfit and turn into a trendy look.

For my maxi skirt look, I have on Stella & Dot. The Renegade bracelet, Knot Cuff and Quill Drop earrings all in gold.

For my leggings look, I have on Stella & Dot once again. The Sutton Necklace in silver is a great statement piece for almost any outfit.

Now, for the shoes. before children, I wore a lot of high heels and chose style over comfort. There is no running around in heels however, so look for shoes that are versatile. I live in Tom’s and Keds these days. Ballet flats are always a good choice too.

My mini has on black leggings, Carters denim vest, Carters pink shoes and a Hello kitty t shirt. How cute is this denim vest she has on? This is last years style from Carter’s but found this Children’s Place vest that is pretty cute here.

How to Style a Denim Vest

Moms wear a whole lot of leggings. How do you find a pair that is right for you?  I like my leggings to have a little bit of structure with a thicker fabric so no imperfections show through. Loft has some of my favorite leggings during the fall and winter and I try to stock up for the year when they go on sale.  Always, always, always cover your butt when wearing leggings. Make sure your top is long enough to drape over your hips and cover the bum. I repeat, cover your bum. I love wearing my leggings as much as the next mom but they are not pants so don’t style them like they are.

How to Style a Denim VestI picked this denim vest up at Kohl’s for around $25. There are so many options for denim vests in all price ranges. Some are really torn, some light, dark, cropped, long. Pick one that goes with your style and with items you already own. I recommend purchasing one that is simple and fits snuggly around your curves.

Cold Shoulder Spring Trend

Cold Shoulder Spring Trend

Spring is here!

Okay. Well, Spring is trying here in Cincinnati. We are at that odd snow one day followed by 70 degrees the next day and snow again right after crazy weather pattern. When I get up in the morning I don’t know if I’m wearing flip flops or snow boots.

The cold shoulder sweaters and tops appeared last year and are in full swing again for Spring and I love it.

Cold Shoulder Spring Trend

When shopping this trend, look for tops that aren’t too revealing. You don’t want a low cut front or back. Let the peak of your shoulders be the main focus.  The top I found here in the photos was actually a TJMaxx find and only cost me $14.99. Winning! I also have a few more cold shoulder pieces I love, one that I just picked up from the Loft. Like this top here, they are all appropriate enough for casual wear or for an office work environment. As a mom, that is what I look for in clothes. Versatility, affordability, casual but still on trend.

In the image above, I have on my favorite Lucky Brand black flats that are great for work, taking the kids to the park and match half my closet. Love these shoes. I brought in just two accessories. One being my signature Engravable Disc Necklace in Rose from Stella & Dot. The other a floppy hat just for fun. Plus my curls are day 2 post wash so a hat seemed like a great idea. Since the top is slightly flowy, I threw on skinny jeans to balance the wider top.

Jen from JCS Modern Day Photography here in Cincinnati was kind enough to go out to the railroad tracks and take some fun photos of myself and we squeezed in some great family photos. Although the children weren’t having it at all. One cried the whole time and the other was acting like getting his pictures taken was just pure torture.  Motherhood.

Cold Shoulder Spring Trend

Take the look from daytime running errands with the kids to date night with the husband by switching out the shoes. Throw on some black wedges and you are ready. No need to change accessories or anything else.

Are you rocking the cold shoulder trend yet? Which top is your style? I’m really loving the floral flowy look right now.
