Velvet Holiday Party Dresses
As holiday parties are now in full swing, finding the perfect dress is on most girls’ current ‘to-do’ list.Ā The options are about as endless as the opportunities to wear your new dress(es).Ā As I sat pondering the options and the opportunities that are approaching for me in the upcoming weeks, I decided to jump on the latest trend and find myself some velvet holiday party dresses.Ā I was thrilled to find that the options in velvet dresses are endless this season and had a difficult time deciding which one I would get for which occasion.
As holiday parties are now in full swing, finding the perfect dress is on most girls' current 'to-do' list Click To TweetOur traditional Christmas Eve dinner tends to be on the more dressy side, however, our attendees range from a 100 year old down to a 5 year old who likes me to be able to play.Ā This requires not only a dress but something that also allows me to be comfortable while holding a squirmy kindergartner on my lap half the evening.Ā Crushed velvet all the way for this one!Ā Since it’s one of the hottest velvet trends right now I had a lot of options while choosing this velvet holiday party dress.
While IĀ typically tend to gravitate towards darker colors this pomegranate colored dress stood out against the rest.Ā Ā The comfortable shift dress style is super comfortable and allows for a lot of movement, while the crushed velvet allows for a little cousin to wriggle on my lap and not leave me looking a hot mess.Ā I fell in love with the 3/4 length bell sleeves and soft v-neck.Ā I paired this crushed velvet dress with a pair of black chunky heeled peep toe shoes and some small jewelry.Ā I decided I’d let the dress make the statement.
The little black velvet dress…
I work in a professional office that has an annual semi-formal (more on the formal side) holiday party each year.Ā I like to keep my attire for this party festive and classy and have gone between dresses and pant outfits from year to year.Ā This year I thought maybe I’d look for a spin on the classic little black dress by finding something in velvet.Ā I absolutely fell in LOVE with this black velvet lace dress!Ā I think it’s the perfect combination of fun and classy.
From the key hole opening in the front to the lacy cap sleeves and back there isn’t one thing I would change about this dress.Ā The length is perfect and professional while the lace is classy and the key hole adds a dash of fun.Ā It is also super comfortable which I really wasn’t expecting.Ā It has movement like a shift dress but is more form fitting.Ā The velvet on this dress is smooth and luxurious and adds to the holiday feel.
I’m a minimalist when it comes to jewelry, hair and makeup so I kept it simple again.Ā I do however like some sparkle so I added a pair of metallic shimmer chunky heels to complete the look.Ā I think a simple braid or ponytail hairstyle is perfect for both of these looks.Ā I combined the two together to make my ponytail look a little more polished.Ā Another hairstyle idea is the Side Braid with Messy Bun for Long Hair.Ā
Finding the perfect velvet holiday party dress is simple.Ā Thankfully they are everywhere right now and come in so many styles.Ā The options are endless as I hope your parties are too!
