Ingredients

  • 8-10 pound spiral bone-in ham
  • 2/3 cups maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons stone ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place unwrapped ham in a roasting pan on the rack flat side down.
  • Add 3/4 cups water to the bottom of pan and cover ham tightly with aluminum foil to retain moisture.
  • Bake for 1 hour, 30 minutes or until the internal temperature is at 140 degrees. A larger ham may take longer but do not overcook.
  • Prepare the glaze by whisking together maple syrup, brown sugar, mustard, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl.
  • Remove ham from oven, raise oven temperature to 400 degrees, remove foil and pour half the glaze over top of ham.
  • Place ham back in oven for 10 minutes. Leave foil off.
  • Pour the remainder of glaze over top (can also use a brush) and bake another 10 minutes.
  • Let rest 5 minutes and serve.
